Mission Statement:

The Dr. Roberts' Surprise Valley Hospital Emergency Fund, Inc. is committed to providing ongoing funds and resources in support of the Surprise Valley Hospital's leadership role in health care and to provide medical education scholarships to members of the local community.

To achieve our mission, we will provide:

• Direct support of Surprise Valley Hospital
  • Develop and implement effective fund-raising programs.
  • Maintain an endowment fund to provide stable, long-term financial support to the hospital.
  • Invest and manage entrusted funds responsibly and effectively
  • Further the Fund's purpose by promoting community awareness and involvement.
• Medical Scholarships
  • Provide medical education assistance to local individuals in the form of scholarships.

Funding:

The Dr. Roberts' Fund accepts gifts on behalf of the Surprise Valley Health Care District and works to fund both present and future equipment and program needs. Contributions of any amount are gratefully accepted. Contributions to the Fund are tax deductible, with 100% of all gifts benefiting the hospital.

We will be looking for many ways to raise money, and we are open to suggestions. Currently, we are starting a membership drive. We will be searching for grant opportunities wherever possible, and we are considering auctions of various types.

Historically, our hospital has needed fairly large amounts of cash to survive during times of crisis. Therefore, we know that we have to think "BIG." We will be looking for help within the community and outside, as well.

Current Plans:

	With the Dr. Roberts' Fund Membership Dinner on February 13th we are kicking off our membership drive for the new year!
	Beer and Wine Sales at the Modoc County Fair.
	The 3rd annual Dr. Roberts' Fund Golf Tournament is already being planned. Check back for more current information, or contact one of the board members.

Future Plans:

	Applying for various grant opportunities - as they arise.
	We are in search of a very generous group or individual who would be able to donate some land or even a home that can be auctioned. St. Jude Hospital Chapter in Chico, California auctioned off a house with an expected net of $600,000 or more.
